The Carroll County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) has played a vital role in Carroll County since its organization on August 15, 1941.  The SWCD provides technical, educational, traditional, and non-traditional assistance.  The SWCD also provides outreach assistance to towns and villages within Carroll County's boundaries.

The SWCD is governed by a locally elected Board of Directors.  The Carroll County SWCD Board Meetings are held at the SWCD Office in Mt. Carroll, Illinois.

Education/Outreach

Programs for our area students including Envirothon, scholarship, 2nd grade day, 3rd grade trees, 4th grade day, and 4th grade poster competition.  We also host field days and workshops for the adults.

    • Pheasants Forever Seed Pick-Up
    • Last day on the job for our Resource Conservationist, Shay Bradbury.  The Resource Conservationist position was cut due to financial hardship caused by $0 being allocated from the state for over a year and diminishing prospects for funding from IL in the near future.
